Vein's motorcycle shot through the deserted part of town. Most of the city was loud and awake at this time of night, but the apartment where Ruby had taken her was in a rather desolate part of town that he owned part of. The apartment was refurbished so that it was just about 5 star, but it was out of the way, extremely, and nothing around the building seemed to fit the room. Scream was back at his home on Alkali Lake, asleep, he hoped. However, he had left one of his contacts to babysit.
A fourteen year old that lived at the Xavier school. She wasn't so much a contact as much as someone that ran a couple of errands for him now and again. Babysitting shouldn't have been to much of a problem....
He pulled to a stop in front of one of the most decripit buildings in the neighborhood. It was actually the most structurally sound and had been reinforced several times. He tossed a cover over his bike, dirty on the outside to avoid anyone deciding to touch it for the most part. He usually did that with his bikes when they were stopped somewhere, he didn't like to deal with people stealing his bikes. And he didn't like it when people stole from him.
He walked up the stairs, entering the apartment and seeing Ruby trying her best to avoid looking at him. "Where." he asked, his voice telling her that he didn't recommend playing games.
Ruby had pulled her 20 blocks to get to the apartment, a task she was rather proud of herself with. Sure it'd been telepathically but did that really matter? When Vein barged in she gulped and shifted her eyes. "Bedroom on your right," she replied.
Vein moved without another word to Ruby. He'd wanted her to take care of it seeing as she had had a similar problem with her own ability, but had managed to reign it under control herself. He entered the room and took a quick glance around, seeing a sleeping form laying on the bed. He sat down, and completely sealed off his mind. If he tried hard enough, he could give the Phoenix a nosebleed. She wasn't going to be that difficult.
She had a better chance of breaking into fort knox with a butterknife and a water gun than she did getting into his mind when she woke up.
