"I knew the same way I knew all the other things about you. I don't need telepathic powers to tell what someone is thinking; I'm an excellent read of people. Always have been. You can go out on the street and pick 5 random people and I can essentially tell you everything about those 5 people, and they don't have to say a word."
Since he was about 14 he'd been training to learn how to read people. His uncle had started teaching him how to do it, but he'd quickly picked it up better than his uncle could. He'd take him to colleges or restaurants, and ask him to pick out what majors people had, or what someone was going to order based on how they looked or were acting. "I mean anyone or anything on the planet Earth. I can tell you how many fleas there are on a cat in China, if you wanted me to."
He let her enter the hallway first and opened the door on the other side, which was the medical facility. "This is the state of the art medical facility. It can help repair anything from a paper cut to a shattered pelvis... and you don't want to know." The room looked a lot like the room before, except there were several bed-looking things in it and lots of jars and other things. "We'll come back here later and scan your finger prints so you can get down to the facility on your own."

Linda looked at him, feeling slightly impressed by everything she had seen and heard from him so far. The building was especially impressive to her, she had never seen so many gadgets in one place before, come to think of it ever... His explanation of how he read her, made her blush as she thought all those things and actually thought to herself. Thank god he can't actually read my mind then! Continuing to walk aimlessly, not knowing where to turn or which door to head for first, until he opened one. She looked inside and saw everything anyone could ever need, from a minor injury to something as complex as major heart surgery. She smiled and nodded as he said something about finger prints. And she said. "So far I have seen a lot, though little at the same time. I mean its obvious to me that a lot of hard work, planning and money has gone into the facility yet you still haven't answered my question. Excuse me if I am being ignorant.!" She took a breath, and sighed as the door was closed and she was walked to wards another door, this place was huge and now she was wondering where the bar was. She just wanted to get to work and earn her keep so to speak. As the thought of work entered her head she added. "Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for the job opportunity and all, but I just don't understand what I am doing here or what you actually want from me?"

Vein smiled a sort of snickering smile when she started saying she was ignorant. "You shouldn't be apologizing so much. It isn't the best quality, and I'll explain. I just wanted you to see a couple of things before we started," he said. He wasn't making fun of her, it was just the easiest smile he could force himself to make. He couldn't really smile....
"I assume you're familiar with the X-Men and the Brotherhood of mutants. Well, I've taken the philosophy of the later, and the funding of the former. However, we are not trying to eliminate all humans. I am not quite that short sighted that I don't see what would happen to the planet if humans were to be wiped off the map.
"However, I also don't like the X-men's pacifistic idea to get mutants into society as equals. We are not equals. Humans are the lesser of the two of us.... However, the change cannot, and will not, be immediate. It is time for humans to step down, and let those with abilities to take over as the dominant race."

Linda frowned at his facial expression and said. "Oh ok, I won't appologise again... Sor!" Stopping herself from saying it. She smiled as he continued, feeling more at ease now. She nodded in agreement, that she enjoyed the tour but now he knew that she wanted to know what it was actually used for and she was greatful that he finally asnwered her question, it felt like was dodging her question before.
The comment he made about the Xavier school for gifted youngsters was common knowledge as they were well known by everyone not just other mutants, they were the ones who broadcast their intensions on the tv for everyone to see. Though she had never heard of the other one he mentioned, the brotherhood. She just smiled a little nervous that she knew nothing of them. She thought nothing more of the brotherhood as she didn't know who they were or what they were about, until he spoke of just that. She turned to him, inquisative to know more and stood there, deep in thought before saying. "I actually agree with that to some extent. We are superior over the human race, and I don't want to wipe anyone off of this earth, but if its a case of me versus them. Then its them everytime!"

"There's no problem with apologizing my dear.... Just don't do it every thirty seconds," he said. "Doing it to much just seems like you're nervous, even if you're not." Wouldn't surprise him if she was nervous. It was unfortunate having your name and picture on almost every magazine in the country. He really didn't like it; at all. Sometimes he thought it might be better back in Romania.
"You've probably heard of the Brotherhood, if not by name. They're probably more famous than the Xavier school. The mutant terrorist group always trying to attack the country," he said. Like he said, they were way to bold. It wasn't quite... good.
"That is our mentality. There's no reason for them to be destroyed, however, they should be brought out of the spotlight. The Destined's goal is to subtly bring the world under mutant control, and act as their protectors at the same time. None of the 'protect the humans' nonsense that the X-Men believe in. They hate us... why should we protect them?"

Linda thought on his words, she was saying it an awful lot and she was nervous but not because of what he was saying or anything about the destined it was to do with him, she found him attractive in a rough and ready kind of way. She tried not to think anymore on it, hoping he didn't pick up on that too. She just stood there, playing with her lower lip as he mentioned the Brotherhood again and nodded, she had heard of someone or something attacking a facility that was on Liberty Island. Though before he mentioned them again, she hadn't put two and two together. She folded her arms across her chest, and stood at a stance with both legs spread wide apart as he went on, she looked over at him. Looking him up and down as she had done before, but realized she was doing it and turned her head to look over out of the nearest window, looking into one of the rooms opposite the one they were in.
Trying to block her thoughts, and to remain calm and act as if nothing had just happened she said "OK I get it now, thanks for that. But would you mind showing me where it is that I am going to work?" She unfolded her arms and let them hang by her side, she wondered what he would say next as she twiddled her thumbs together.

Vein shook his head slightly. She was eager to get to work it seemed.... "The Heart Nightclub is on 'club row'. I'm sure you've heard of that place at least." Club row was a nickname for a street in the City with several very popular nightclubs on it. "I'll take you there in a bit, Emerald probably wants to size up her new bartender anyway," he said, and moved back towards the elevator.
"If you want, I can show you your room later tonight. If you want to stay here that is. Ruby chooses to keep an apartment, and I have a house myself. It's your choice. The rooms have a direct line to the Heart upstairs, and you can get just about anything you want to eat."
He walked back out of the room and back down to the elevator. "Which is where I think we'll go first, The Heart, that is. I get the feeling that you're probably hungry. I'm guessing you were to nervous this morning to eat?" he asked.

Again Linda nodded as he referred to Club row, she had heard of it in passing and yes she was eager to get to work. The comment of her living status confused her slightly, yet she had no where to live as she had given up her dingy flat, hoping that this job would provide her with better. And now it looked like her choice was a good one to have made, she turned and followed him into the elevator once more and said. "Well I'm glad you've mentioned that, I have nowhere to live at the moment. So if I could stay here, then that would be perfect for me...!"
She paused and thought on what her room would look like, she figured it would be more than what she was used too. And she couldn't wait to rush into her room and bounce on the huge bed, if the other room she had already seen was anything to go by her room would be enough for a family to live in... She smiled as he mentioned food and replied. "I am a tad hungry yes, so the club serves food too then I take it?" Wondering if she would be cooking, she hoped not she was a lousy cook...
She heard him mention someone named Emerald, she wondered if that was her given name or her mutant name. And by the sound of her, Linda would have her work cut out for her. She sighed, knowing that she would have another person to impress, that's if she was impressing Vincent or not... She started to feel nervous again as she stood and waited for the elevator, she twiddled her thumbs...

"You can take a look at it after your shift. Have Ruby drive you back to the Vige building... or maybe someone else. Which reminds me," he pulled a brand new cell phone out of his pocket and tossed it to her. "This is yours. I'm in the contacts list under 'Vin'." All the Destined members had similar phones. And each one had been told to keep it on them at all times.
"Keep it on you at all times." Now so had she. It wasn't really that he needed it to track them, he didn't. It just made it a bit easier. That, and it was helpful to be able to contact any member of the Destined at any time. "If I call and you don't answer, we might have a problem."
He nodded slightly. "Emerald was the head chef at a five star restaurant before she came under my employ. However, the stress of running the nightclub also makes her a nightmare in the kitchen. One of the reasons I don't eat there. We're going to eat at the restaurant upstairs."
He hit the button on the elevator. Back up to the second floor, then down to the first. "Emerald, so you know, is the manager of the club you'll be working in."

Linda smiled as he threw her a brand new cell, everything seemed to be falling into place for her. First the job, then somewhere to live and now a phone she wondered what else if anything could be heading in her direction. Though she knew with the good, there had to be the bad. Everything she had heard and seen over the past few hours had only been positive things, she wondered if the destined had its dark side too. He had filled her in on its purpose and that didn't sound too bad to her. She stood there and looked at the cell phone, it was an expensive one and she wanted to explore it in detail but she figured that would best be done in her own time. She slipped it into her jacket and returned her attention back to the elevator.
He spoke alot about her job, what it would entail and the fact that they were both hungry it still amazed her how well he could read her. It was almost scary, though she just brushed that thought asside and said. "Thanks for the cell, the home and well everything I guess. As for not answering that'll never happen!" Of course she couldn't be sure that would be the case, though if she did miss a call from him she would have a good explanation as to why.
She smiled as he mentioned eating in the resteraunt upstairs, the idea of eating in her work place also made her feel a little ansy. She was now dreading meeting this Emerald person in the flesh, everything he had said about her made the picture in her mind all scary looking with the attitude to boot. She sighed and said. "Yes you said I'd be working for her... I am not looking forward to meeting her, from what you have told me so far she sounds a little up beat!" Trying to put it nicely, not wanting to put her feet in it and upset the boss. She wondered what the resteraunt would be like, and hoped that Emerald wasn't the fly in her ointment.

"Don't mention it," he said, climbing out of the elevator on the second floor, and climbing into the elevator next to it to go back down. "Remind whoever picks you up tonight to put your fingerprints into the database. That way you can get into the base without a chaperone. Now, no more talking about the Destined. Not in public anyway."
He shook his head slightly as she said she was nervous about meeting Emerald. The oriental woman was a touch psychotic he had to admit.... Only if you caught her on a bad day though. "Just do what you're told, don't break anything, and don't bother her on bill day, and you'll be fine. Actually, if you can manage to do all three of those you'll probably be employee of the month."
Emerald tended to stay behind the scenes during the club hours, unless the DJ or one of the bartenders was out. Then she stepped in and went up front, one of the backup cooks staying over. She said it was a refreshing change, from Salmon that had to bee slow cooked for 2 and a half hours to quick club snacks. The elevator stopped and he walked through the lobby over to a Doorway marked 'The Heart'. He opened up the door, revealing a large dining area.
He walked over to the host station. "Hello..." he glanced at the nametag, "Marvin. Table for two please."

She followed him, as he lead her to wards the restaurant he mentioned earlier.Getting in and out of elevators, made her feel a little queasy, she breathed heavily as she got out of the lift and followed him through more corridors, trying not to throw up and keep herself composed.Linda nodded, in reference to his comment about not mentioning the destined. It made sense to her, that it was a secret organization and that he wanted it to stay that way. She could see why, everything she had seen and learned in the past few hours was awe inspiring.
When he mentioned that Emerald was an oriental woman, another image flashed in her mind. She pictured her to be some sort of martial arts expert, dressed like a ninja and complete with nun chucks and a samurai and seemed even more threatening now. Again she nodded to his comment then added. "I am a hard worker, I've never been employee of the month before, so it will be something to strive for I guess!
She continued to follow him, like a loyal puppy. She stood at the host station a matter of millimeters behind him.Feeling that if she left his side for a moment, she would probably get lost and therefore loose her chance of a lifetime at working for him. She looked around at the restaurant area, it was again a beautifully decorated area and clearly money was spent on every little detail. Even the name tag, stood out for its unique design. She felt a tad nervous again as he asked for a table for two, though they were there for lunch and nothing more, so why did she feel like she was seventeen again and on a date with the Le-cross captain? She shook her head, trying not to think of the date with her first love Bobby. She did remember though, that he moved on to a cheerleader which of course broke her heart.

Vein sorta doubted that she actually did employee of the month things. Not to many places in the real world did. Mostly something on tv shows and movies for some weird plot. Especially not a nightclub. He shifted his thoughts back to the world at hand. She was a girl so she wouldn't have to deal with Succubus. Ruby was a slightly different story.
"Just work hard and you'll be fine. There's not a whole lot that you'll have to worry about there so long as you can catch up. Also, avoid using your ability as much as possible at the club. I doubt we'd have to much of a problem, but no unncessary risks. We've got enough of that between a few of our other members."
It was more of a harem than an actual organization at this point.... He and Ethan being the only male members, and he saw Ethan once in a blue moon. Not that it mattered to him. So long as they didn't get arrested, cause a scene, or reveal the Destined, they were free to do what he wanted. So long as they came when they were called.
"Y... yes Mr. Vige... sir," the nervous man stuttered out and quickly lead him to the booth. Vein somewhat grinned. He was imagining the tabloids the next day.... He was going to have yet another imaginary love interest. He'd been seen with Succubus, Samora, Ruby.....
He took a seat at the table and waited. He wasn't really hungry, but he could make it so he was.

Linda watched as Vein's power or rather his demeanor, proved threatening to the staff. The poor kid looked like he was going to be flayed alive or something, she found it rather impressive though that his staff saw him as the boss. And after all the boss should be threatening and impressive, or else what where the lower fractions in the business going to strive for?
She followed him into the booth and pulled out her own chair and sat down. Once she was seated and the staff had miraculously disappeared. She could talk to him about what he had said to her. She leaned onto the table and leaned to wards him, not waning anyone to hear her. She started with. "Nice place, I can see why you come here allot!" She shifted her weight, so she was now almost face to face with him and added. "What you said about me using my powers, I wouldn't use them in a club anyway. I mean, I'm a pyrokinetic so unless you want your place burned down then it would be pointless, unless someone orders a back draft then there ain't much use of my ability in the club, is there?" She sat back into her chair, and picked up the menu wondering what she was going to order and what the prices would be.

((I know for a fact I responded to this, but I don't know what happened to the post >.>))
Vein was known to his staff as a man not to be messed with. They all knew he was friends with Ruby, which was the only reason that she hadn't been fired. Repeatedly. Maybe killed. Some of the employees seemed to think their CEO was connected to the mob, and they weren't really that far off. Then again, the Destined wasn't a real mob, not much crime involved.
"I don't really come here much," he said, leaning back in the booth. A few minutes later it had gotten around that the boss and someone else had appeared downstairs. A few moments later, a glass was placed in front of him. It was full of his usual drink, enough alcohol to kill a normal person. His body could easily take care of it. He usually made a drink, and the Heart employees were told to NEVER give it to anyone else.
"Just don't set things on fire in the bar. It's a pet peeve of hers. Make sure you use the lighter for the candles too," he said, picking up the drink after the waitress had walked off with her drink order. He'd put together the menu, so he knew everything on it. He had his hand in just about every single part of his company, which was why there was no menu in front of him. There was one for her though.
"Expect quick service."
