Nicknames:
Mei Mei, Zi, MZ.
Code Name:

Age:

Gender:
Female
Powers/Special Abilities:
Super speed
• Mei’s main and primary power is super speed. She is able to run up to the speed of half the speed of light. She does not leave a scent that dogs can track when she is running at a high speed of over 500 miles per hour. Although discovered later on, she is able to run across the surface of large bodies of water--moving so fast that he does not break the surface tension of the water as he runs. Her reflexes are faster than a normal human and tied with her abilities in Kung Fu she is able to dodge most blows.
Shock Absorption
• As Mei’s secondary power, she is able to absorb shocks caused by running and jumping off of high ledges and buildings. This is because her bones and tendons have adjusted for the strain that is put under them due to her running. Her mutant change caused her bones, muscles and tendons to change greatly to withstand jumping from large heights and ruthless training. This also makes her legs more powerful, enabling her to kick with a large amount of power, also putting power behind her legs to jump off buildings.
Air Shield
• Mei’s last ability is her control. To run at her top speed, it would cause great damage to the area around her due to her releasing a great amount of energy if she ran. E.g. plants would die and it would damage to ozone layer, plus after running, anything she would come to contact with would combust in a matter of moment. She would have to control that so it wouldn’t cause damage. However hard she practices, Mei cannot go over her top speed so she had to learn to control what she had already.
Lightning storm Issue
• Very simple, Mei cannot run at all in a lightning storm in a three mile radius, they weaken every power and the effect of running up until a storm is very painful to her.
Appearance:
..::Catch Me::..
..::If You::..
..::Can::..
Personality:
Mei is very compassionate towards others. She has a sense that seems to let her get inside another's skin to understand how they are feeling. However, she gets so into other people's problems, she often loses strength she needs herself. Mei is very impressionable and she is susceptible to almost anyone's sob story. Being so empathetic, it is often hard for her to turn down someone they think is in need of her help. She tends to find her self-sacrificing ways and caring nature is often taken advantage of by others.
Due to her naiveté and need to help others, she may become depressed and disillusioned when someone cheats her or betrays her kindness. It can lead Mei to question her own nature and that brings about confusion and anxiety. She may, if hurt enough times, begin to distrust others.
Because Mei often lives in a dream world, she may be impractical and lazy. She may lack confidence in herself at times and that leads her to become somewhat of a loner.
Hobbies:
• Cooking
• Kung-Fu
• Practicing both fighting and her powers
• Sparring
• Learning
• Reading
Weapons/Equipment/Skills
By intensive training with her grandfather, Mei eventually became familiar with the style of Shaolin Kung Fu. Her grandfather taught her to fight with bare hands, but also taught her to fight with a couple of weapons such as the staff and the blade. Mei doesn’t carry around this blade with her, because she chooses to rely more on her powers of speed and her hand to hand combat then with weapons.
History:
Mei was born in late eighties to Ruomei and Jian Zheng in China, Beijing. She was clever, an inquisitive young girl for her age who brought happiness to anyone who may have troubles.
As she grew up in Beijing, her mother an accountant and her father a biologist, she soon found out about the mutant federation, after a narrow escape with a pyrokinetic. This, of course caused her to hate and fear mutants of any kind, at such a young age, which developed into a slight phobia of fire.
Often, Mei would visit her grandparents to escape the throng and pollution. There, her grandfather taught her about mutants, and slowly, she soon became less afraid, even though something was still there, which all her family knew couldn’t be undone, just forgotten.
At the age of twelve, Mei had grown up into a pretty young girl and seemed to have forgotten all about her fear. She knew mutants were about, but disregarded thoughts about them after some soothing therapy. She helped out with her mother in the kitchen, and grew a talent for cooking. She would often make food for her parents who were constantly weary from energy using work. Unfortunately for her, Mei was a clumsy individual, proving no good in sport and being yelled at for it. She was curious too, and curiosity killed the cat.
Her father worked in a lab in the basement, and Mei wasn’t to be allowed in. When her father was distracted, she snuck into the basement, marvelling at all the experiments he conducted. Looking at the jars, she tripped, over a cable and knocked a number of chemicals over her. Her father ran in to find Mei on the floor, covered in the chemicals. He called an ambulance and Mei was to spend a few nights in a hospital, to make sure the chemicals wouldn’t harm her.
Except, they helped along with her mutant transformation. After being let out from hospital, Mei spent another few nights at her grandparents, soon after her grandmother passed away. Soon enough, when Mei was running for the school bus, she found she could over take it with ease. Worrying, she kept it to herself, wondering what she was. When it happened again, the same thing, her grandfather confronted her, and pulled the truth from her.
Instead of being taken aback like her parents, her grandfather helped her. Because she was able to run at about mach 1, she was a great danger to herself. At the age of sixteen, before she would leave for college, he decided to teach her Shaolin Kung Fu for her own good, and partly because he was very fond of her. It took a while, but Mei soon picked up on it and after many a defeat from the man, she soon grasped the fighting style. To protect her soles, she wore rubber soled boots so the shock wouldn’t jar her bones as much.
One night, running home in the rain, Mei’s umbrella was struck by lightning. She was in a desolate field, close to her home, and the cloud was just over head. The lightning shot through her body, but she had a narrow escape with burns and a scar on her back. The reason she survived was because of her boots. This furthered her abilities, and soon enough she was able to use them. But as she did, things happened around her. Plants died in the area she was running, and after a logical explanation from her father, Mei learnt she must control her abilities otherwise she would not be able to use them.
Through extensive training, this took her two years to accomplish, and then she was able to run at a high speed of light.
A few months later, she had news of her grandfather’s death. It was all natural, and it was strange how he seemed so fit. Still, Mei was inconsolable at that point, and to get away with it all, her and two friends from college with enough funds from her parents and part of the will from her grandfather, who left her all he had, moved to New York City to open up a restaurant. It soon grew extremely popular, at the speed of deliveries, service and cooking.
Role Playing Sample:
The rain poured down on the sprawled out body of the teenage girl. She lay almost lifeless, the only thing that determined her life or death the small breaths emitting from her lips. The smell of burning was pungent in the air. There were blisters on her uncovered arms. An umbrella laid beside her, once a measly attempt to shield her from the rain, now just a piece of mangled metal.
The grass around her was burnt, and as she came to, more of it seemed to die around her. Her eyes opened, the only thing able to move at this moment. Her eyelids moved slowly as she blinked. The rain. It was falling so slow. She watched as it hit the puddles and the droplets of water splashed upwards. Of course, she was none the wiser as to what had just happened. She didn’t know her umbrella had conducted the bolt that had rushed through her body. It would have killed her. But it didn’t.
She was able to run already, but running wore down her shoes. So she bought those with rubber soles, with bounce. And when she ran across the field in the torrent of rain, right under a thundercloud, it struck her, ran through her body but earthed due to her soles.
Voices?
She couldn’t hear properly. They were a simple monotonous sound. She couldn’t make out how many were there. But, they were calling her name. A high pitched sound met her ears and the awful shrill sound caused her to shudder. She saw a woman. She was running, but again, so slowly. She was tired. Her eyes closed.
