Name: Lyric Robin Taylor
Nicknames:
Code Name: Whisper
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Powers/Special Abilities: Whisper is a telepath and a telekinetic. Because of the "cure", however, the power can completely control her at times to which she can't handle it. She has become a master at throwing large objects across the room or blowing them up, both completely by accident sometimes, but she can do it controlled as well. She lives to try to control her powers, but sometimes the voices in her head just overwhelm her with drama and issues that a young teenager doesn't need to hear.
Appearance:
Lyric is short and small. She is only 5'2" tall and she is so skinny that seeing her bare stomach would scare someone slightly. She weighs nearly nothing for a sixteen year old girl. She sallow face is usually covered by her wavy brown hair, but still contains her light brown eyes.
Personality: Lyric likes being by herself. She doesn't want to be with people because she doesn't want to be the odd one out in society. When she does meet people, on a rare occasion, she is a quiet talker, and she is shy, making her pale skin flush vibrantly. She doesn't wear very well kept clothes, she steals from thrift stores and people. She loves to eat when she can get her hands on food, but doesn't eat on a regular basis, giving her a sallow face and sick like body figure.
Hobbies: She loves to read and draw, she is a really amazing sketcher. She loves puzzling things and things that make her think. She thinks that she might want to write but is afraid to fail.
Weapons/Equipment/Skills She doesn't carry and weapons. the only thing she knows to defend herself is her fists when she fights on the streets. She does have her mind, however. She doesn't like to use it against people, but her emotions tend to fly her head in so many directions that she doesn't mean to, but does use her telekinetic power.
History: Lyric Robin Taylor was born to Emmerson and Naomi Taylor in Boston on March the 3rd, only 16 years ago. She didn't acquired her powers at birth, and her parents thought nothing of it until she was 5 and Rowan Galilea Taylor was born. Literally the day after, Lyric had been given her powers. Her powers were somewhat limited and grew as her body was able to handle them, always under control.
The moment that her parents were killed in their sleep, Lyric and Rowan were both brought in. Lyric was only at the age of 12, making Rowan a mere 7 year old. Her entire memory she has blocked subconciously, and one morning, after they had been brought into the orphanage, she had conciously forgotten all of who she was before she had been brought to the orphanage. To this day she doesn't remember. She and her sister's mutant abilities were just at the edge of controlled and off the handle, and it drove their traditional orphanage mother crazy. The moment that she had heard of a cure, she brought Lyric and Rowan through the protesting crowds, and they were some of the first "cured" mutants, reluctant to say the least.
A few months past, six at the very least, and slowly but surely, their powers came back. But by coming back, it was all too much for Rowan to handle. Lyric and Rowan's powers came back at an increasingly large scale, especially too much for little Rowan to handle. She would lock herself in rooms and put illusions into all of the children's minds, driving them crazy. The orphan mother brought Rowan to a psychiatric institution, where she stays to this very day. Lyric ran of course, not bearing the loss of yet another family member. Her powers were also too much for her, or society to handle. She hid in alleyways or abandoned buildings and when people got too close, her mind would go crazy. She knew she would have to find a new place to stay.
Role Playing Sample: Lyric was laying around at home, the voices in her head were concentrated buzz and her puzzle spread across the floor in a way that looked like she had spilled them. She ran her fingers through her hair as she looked for a completely black piece with a red corner. She whistled as she looked, though she could find no sign of it. Looking at her old, gold men's wristwatch, she realized it was nearly midnight, and that she was actually exhausted. She walked slowly over to a make-shift cot, bed sort of thing, kicked off her shoes, and gently pulled herself under the covers. Only minutes later, was she dreaming.
"Lyric, darling, it's Mrs. Randall. Wake up sweetie. We have to go down to the police station." A much younger Lyric sleepily got out of bed and into the car with her friend's mother... Flash... Little Lyric was sitting with a social worker and a cranky Rowan at a police station. The young social worker was attempting to comfort Rowan and paying no attention to Lyric. Lyric realized this quickly and nonchalantly wandered off... Flash... "I don't know what we're going to do with these kids." "Their parents left no will, which means the usual. Ship them to an orphanage and end the case. The parents are dead." Tears silently streaked down Little Lyric's face... Flash... "C'mon kids," said an older, meaner social worker, grabbing Rowan's chubby wrists... Flash... "You little freaks! It's all your fault your parents are dead!!!" He pointed a gun at little Lyric... Crack... Flash...
Lyric gasped as she fell out of bed, soaked in sweat. Was it a dream? Or was that actually what happened? She had had dreams about her past before but this was the most accurate in a long time. She switched the light on to see a dysfunctional room. Puzzle pieces and old furniture were thrown about the room, and there was a bustling outside. She got up, walked to the window and peered out to see policemen and bathrobe people looking at a broken car with an old chair on the top. She heard footsteps on the creaky stairs and began to panic.
