Name:
Tristan-Alexander Delatour
Nicknames:
Goes by his Codename.
Code Name:
Hobo
Age:
Stop aging at 20. Is around 27.
Gender:
Male
Powers/Special Abilities:
Living object: Hobo's body became one of a wooden mannequin lacking facial or body traits and organs inside it. Due to his extreme mutation, he doesn't need to eat, breathe, drink or any other human needs and doesn't age anymore. However, this mutant can still see, hear, speak and feel ( for the sake of having a playable character ) but lost the sense of taste and smell. Hobo feels pain like any normal humans would do. He needs atleast 8 hours of sleeps for every 16 hours awake. In fact, he will automatically fall into a deep coma-like slumber after 16 hours of consciousness or if he receives a strong enough impact to knock a above-average human. Knowing that he's stuck in such conditions, his sanity is questionable and his mind is an easy target for any telepathic foes.
Body of wood: The wood that his body is made of is very dense making him only a bit less durable that iron. Can withstand large impacts but tend to be weaker around concentrate blows (Like an axe swing or anything that hit a small area). His wooden body regenerate itself while and only while he sleeps. Can lift up to 200 lb over his head. Is around 250 lb and has very low jumping power. Move at below average speed. Having a wooden body and being covered in clothes, he's basically an moving flammable rag doll.
Self-Gravity: Similar to the Blob, Hobo can alter his personal mono-directional gravity field beneath himself to make himself virtually immovable as long as he is in contact with the ground, although an incredible force can uproot him, along with a chunk of whatever he is standing on. It is possible for someone to remove the surface on which is he standing on. Hobo cannot move or do anything while using it as he need massive "energy" output in order to trigger this power. Often falls in his coma-like slumber after using this power due to the large amount of "energy" used.
Appearance:
A large man around 5'10" entirely covered in many layers of old and damaged clothes making him look very large compared to an human of his usual height. If one look carefully, he would atleast see 5 or 6 layers of clothes via the many wear and tear of his clothing. Notable layers for his upper body, are starting from the layer closest to his body, a old t-shirt, a work shirt, a suede jacket, a hooded sweatshirt, an overcoat and lastly a winter jacket with some other layers too damaged to recognize. For his head, in the same order, a mask, a tuque and with a two long scarf that hides the lower part of his face along side with the hoods, from both the sweatshirt and the winter jacket, covering the upper part of his face. To hide his legs, he sports three pairs of baggy jeans with a pair of overalls. He seems to be wearing two to three pairs of old socks with a big pair of worker boots stitched in place with iron wire. His hands are covered with three kinds of gloves. If a part of his body would be exposed, Hobo would try to find another garment to replace the old one by wearing it above the other layers. Needless to be said, he doesn't really care about what he looks like as long his body is covered.
Under his clothes, Hobo is actually a wooden mannequin of an average size man with no facial or body traits or whatsoever. This physical anomaly is part of his mutation.
Personality: A child in a body too big for him, that what Hobo really is. Rather naive when meeting new faces, this mutant tends to be easily fooled by everyone. With a golden heart under his wooden body, Hobo would try to help anyone that he feel like his friend. Very honest, he sometimes tend to be harsh and rude during conversations. Hobo speaks in the third person for reasons unknown.
He tends to blame himself if something goes wrong and perhaps tries to hard to redeem himself among others. Rather an pacifist, Hobo prefer to avoid using violence of any kind unless he believes that one of his friends is in danger. However, when it comes to his own safety, he doesn't really help himself. A good listener but tends to ask a lot of question when he's in doubt, which may get on some people nerves.
He is well aware of his mutant powers but is rather shy about revealing his past or anything associated with this aspect of his life.
Hobbies:
Not much, he spends most of his day talking to those who wants to talk or (trying to) help those who ask for help. When he's lucky he stand in front of some television store to get the latest news.
Weapons/Equipment/Skills
Except for his huge amount of clothing, nothing. More of an weakness than a skill, Hobo doesn't know how to swim.
History:
Tristan-Alexander was born in Quebec, Canada. Son of a caring father and mother of the middle class, one could describe his childhood as normal. But it wasn't really true. T-A, or the now self-called Hobo, started his mutation at the age of 14. At first, he simply started to lose appetite as his organs begun mutating. Of course, it was something that was easy to hide. Later that year, food became optional for his survival. Of course, T-A told his parents, who simply never believed him. Afterall wouldn't that be only an excuse to not eat his vegetables?
As he grew older, his mutation advanced exponentially. At 15, various parts of his body began his transformation, becoming wood-like. First hiding his mutation with layers of clothes, T-A would soon leave his home for the streets. His parents would never know that their son was a mutant. Living on the streets wasn't so hard for him, as he didn't need to eat anymore. His sense of taste and smell would disappear with some facial traits during this year. He wasn't even recognizable anymore.
At 16, his mutation jump-started. Within a week, his whole body became the one of a wooden mannequin. With this sudden change within him, his sanity became questionable as he started leaving his home country clothes with heavy clothing so that no one sees his mutation. How did he traveled? By hopping into trains abd trucks with other hobos. That's also where he got his name from.
He would spend the next years wandering around, not knowing what do of his life. For reasons unknown reasons, he ended in New York City at the age of 20 with his mutation completed. Since then, he wanders the streets of the Big Apple, making Central park his new home.
Role Playing Sample:
Hobo was sat on the ground in front of a crowded street. He didn't move since the last hour, simply observing in front of him. Many pedestrians stopped to see if he was dead, some kids poked him earlier with a stick. Now, birds were doing their toilets on him while other birds began pecking his clothes. Nothing that was disturbing him. A small wind lifted his scarfs as they went dancing with the invisible flow. Another ordinary in his pretty boring life. Then something caught his attention, a small children playing with a ball. He didn't know why he start staring at the kid, but there was something about him.
The young boy threw the ball on a lamp and it began rolling in the middle of the street. Hobo stood up as quickly as he could scaring birds and pedestrians as he tried to run toward the ball. The kid did the same thing but at a faster pace than the wooden mutant. When the kid arrived at the middle of the street holding his ball, the sound of a car braking screeched. Hobo managed to get himself between the boy and the car. In a what seemed to be a split-second, the hooded mutant bend himself to cover the boy with his body. He focused to alter his gravity just before the impact. He felt the car crashing on him before losing conscious.
The car was still in one piece but the front was crushed in an U shape with both Hobo and the boy filling the gap. Some pedestrians rushed to remove the boy from the car. And they did it with minimal effort. The child had few cuts on an arm but he was safe. As for the man who saved him, people was surprised to only find an wooden mannequin.
Hobo would wake up beneath trashcans and garbage bags in some alley. It seems that his body successfully healed itself during his coma. He started searching for more clothes to replace his broken ones before heading out to Central Park. He sat down once again, this time on a park bench. He sat very straight and waited for something to happen. Another ordinary in his pretty boring life.
