[I'm sorry it's so long D=]
Name: Andrea Rose McCoy
Nicknames: Andy, Ann, Anna.
Code Name: Aquarius
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Powers/Special Abilities:
+ Hydrokinesis
Andrea has the superhuman ability of hydrokinesis, which allows her to freely create and manipulate water. Because she drinks more water than a normal human does, she is able to use her powers in dry places, but this requires her to drink a great amount of water, like two gallons for instance, which is almost impossible even though she is a mutant. Otherwise, Andrea normally pulls the moisture from the air and collects it together to form attacks. Because Andrea has more water her body, she is able to turn her body into the substance, and still move.
When in battle, if Andrea is able to have skin contact with an enemy, and if she isn’t too frightened or hurt, she is able to instantly dehydrate a person, causing them to become slow or cause fainting.
+ Water Breathing
Linking to hydrokinesis, Andrea is able to freely breathe under water.
+ Cryokinesis
Andrea’s least developed and latest discovered power allows her to instantaneously freeze moisture. This requires a great amount of ‘charging time’ and focus. She is able to freeze the water she turns herself into, and defrost herself. By teaming this up with her hydrokinetic power in the human body, she is able to draw particles of water to her palms, and by touching an opponent’s skin, she can cause ice burns or instant frostbite. By reacting with the water in an opponent’s bodily fluids, she can lower the temperature of the target, causing them to become ill.
Appearance:
+ Hair
Mid-length brown hair dyed a couple of shades darker. Normally curly/wavy or in a ponytail but at special occasions such as birthdays and outings, she does straighten it.
+ Face
A petite, heart shaped face with slim, angled and slightly gaunt features. Small lips and almond shaped blue gray eyes accented by long eyelashes. A slightly pale pallor with dimples whenever she smiles, and a full set of pearly whites.
+ Makeup
Subtle make up, blush and lipstick or lip-gloss, eyes with a thin layer of eyeliner and mascara. At evenings, darker tones of makeup more heavily put on. Bitten nails painted with warm or bright colors.
+ Build
Thin but petite and delicate build, fairly tall with slightly broad shoulders and but not all that curvy. Long legs and arms, with much to her dislike, knobbly knees. Small feet and ankles.
+Clothing
Andrea doesn’t follow fashion that much. Occasionally she splashes out on a fashionable outfit for an occasion but normally her style is very earthy and slightly hippie like with beads and bangles with hooped or dangly earrings, large gem jewellery, blouses with floats skirts, scarves tights and boots. At other times, jumpers and jeans with woollen accessories and hats. Knee length vest type dresses with large belts and pumps.
Personality: When meeting new people, Andrea can be shy at times if she isn’t feeling confident with herself, but if she gets to know a person or a group of people she can become very chatty. She is a polite and considerate person, being honest and thinking more of others than her own needs, which can also be her downfall, being labelled clingy or trying too hard, which she often does.
If there is someone who may need something, she would go out of her way to get it, very often picking up or dropping off people to places, but because of her naive nature, Andrea is often lead by people, then upset by them, but she would still comeback, blaming herself for it. She greatly appreciates compliments and when people returns favours, being a believer in Karma.
Because of her considerate demeanour, Andrea has trouble speaking out or saying no if it is against someone’s plans or thoughts, therefore becoming a type of doormat to others to walk over and a pushover, which she is often used because of this. She often clings on to people and becomes emotionally attached to them, but never sais her feelings, just in case she is let down.
When angered, Andrea can become very spiteful and tends to let her bottled up anger rush over her and upset others, but she is quick to apologize. As a very organized person, Andrea isn’t usually late for things and hardly ever loses items in her home. Being a teacher, Andrea is a good listener and offers advice whenever she can if needed.
Hobbies: Being musically and vocally talented, Andrea plays a great variety of musical instruments such as string, wind, brass and piano.
Weapons/Equipment/Skills Andrea learnt some Judo when she was younger.
History: Born in the 80’s to Christian, god fearing Caroline and Daniel Smith, along with three older brothers in Los Angeles, California. Her family lived in middle class suburbs and were fairly paid, enough for them to get by. After a few kinks in her past with her father attaining a gambling addiction and almost having their house repossessed, after her father got counselling, and realizing his sins, their family soon got back to normal when she was three.
Being the only girl in the family, Andrea soon became more of a tomboy than girly, joining soccer practice with her brothers and getting down and dirty with them, like wrestling in the mud and having flour fights. At the age of eight, her baby sister, Heather was born, and having a slight maternal side to her, Andrea soon took to looking after her whilst her parents had a rough patch in their relationship. Of course, Andrea was patronized for this by her mother, but didn’t stop.
After there wasn’t any rooms for them all to sleep in, and after careful saving of their parents, they moved into a four bed roomed house, and the loft was converted for Andrea’s room. She still was extremely close to her little sister, and took more care over her still than the baby’s own parents, which they would have to accept because back then, Andrea was stubborn about it and wouldn’t stop for the world.
Andrea experienced trouble in school, for she found it extremely difficult to make friends. After a few years of being alone, she found out her musical talents and that soon got her some popularity amongst some people. At eleven, in the fifth grade, Andrea began getting lessons to play some instruments, working on her talent, dead set she wanted to be a singer, so she began at learning the piano.
After two years into middle school, she moved onto learning the guitar. At this time, all the other girls in her classes moved into little cliques, and because Andrea was more interested in music than make up and boys, she wasn’t accepted and they chose to bully her. Taking this, Andrea bottles up her sadness and hurt, until it all flooded out on a girl who stepped too far. She got in a fight with her and because she actually managed to break the girl’s nose, she was permanently excluded. Later that month, she discovered her powers. After turning off a faucet, the water kept running, after that, when she tried to stop it, it followed her hands and flooded her washroom. After that she found out her mutant ability, and at first she was shocked, scared, but built on it.
At her new school, she didn’t exactly fit in quickly, but finding two firm friends, she soon did. Practicing until her fingers were red and painful on the guitar, she forgot about taking care of her little sister and instead going back to being slightly like a tomboy with her now sixteen year old brothers, who were also musically gifted, she started a little band with them, which was successful in talent shows and such. While all this was happening, Andrea was changing too, not forgetting about her powers, but keeping them quiet, much to the confusion and frustration of her parents.
Now entering high school, Andrea became more interested In boys. Her singing talent attracted a few, and of course, Andrea took the bait and dated a number of them, but they didn’t last long. Of course, she was devoted to each of them, but the feeling wasn’t mutual. Andrea’s grades increased as she was one of the few who did her homework. At this time, Andrea had mastered the brass instruments and soon was learning wind.
When she left high school at 18, and went on to college to study music and teaching, for her ideas had changed of becoming a singer to a music teacher. She became socially unattached to men, and more concentrated on her career. But whilst in college, one man had managed to charm her. He was almost too good to believe, with his dark blue eyes that gazed right into hers, his chiselled features and long blond hair and his charm that left her powerless. She soon fell in love with him, and after seven months at the North Western University studying music, at 22, she left and got engaged to Jonas McCoy, a fellow singer and studier of music and performing arts. They married and moved into a cosy flat in Los Angeles, and he supported her for a year until she found herself a career.
She started her career as a music teacher, and for two years she taught a large number of students, bringing out their natural musical talents of a few hopefuls. Because she was so besotted with her partner, she lost contact with her family, and this caused problems. After a heated argument, she broke off from them altogether, which she knew was too big of a mistake to make. At twenty five, she was pregnant. But due to her powers, she was worried that he would leave her once she would tell him, so unfortunately for her, she kept it quiet.
Of course, she hadn’t told her partner about how she was a mutant. After she turned his coffee to ice, after her pregnancy caused her powers to become unstable, he asked questions and when she answered them he immediately took it the wrong way and almost left her, counselling just being able to keep them together. And also because of their unborn child they stayed together, but there then seemed to be a barrier between the two that either of them couldn’t possibly break.
Over the nine months, Andrea tried her best to make it work for them, but it seemed impossible. They had drawn further apart. She still loved him, but he simply couldn’t. She was in labour for thirteen hours before she conceived her child, Chloe. She was slightly underweight and had trouble breathing at the start, but because she pulled through after a narrow escape, that drew Andrea even closer to her baby. Three years later, her husband filed a divorce to her.
This hit hard, and Andrea went into a depression. She was cut off from her friends, who had given up on her, as she had them. She couldn’t afford to keep her flat so she downsized to a single bed roomed in New York City. It was her little sister that helped her. Even though it was an extremely long time they had been apart, her sister slowly broke Andrea down and helped her back on her feet and to get back in touch with her friends. She attended counselling for the break up and worked out a regime where her daughter would spend some time with each of them in turn, even though her daughter was the only thing Andrea had to emotionally cling on to.
She quit her job in Los Angeles, and took up another teaching job in the city she was in, and continued learning more instruments to help get her mind of things. And after finding new friends in New York, she soon woke up out of her daze and finally got on with life which was what she really needed to do.
Role Playing Sample: Luck was on her side today. It was as if there was a cloud in the sky it would look out of place. She was strolling around Victorian Gardens with her most wonderful treasure holding onto her hand, and she knew that she wouldn’t let go of her for the world at this moment. She glanced down at her daughter, who was looking up at her with a great beaming smile on her face. The only thing that made her smile fall a bit was, the little girl reminded Andrea so much of her husband, who still created storms of butterflies in her stomach whenever she pulled up to drop her girl off, or he appeared at her door, with his charming smile and such chiselled features that made her just want to reach out to him.
Her daughter was clutching a soda to her chest and sipping it through the straw delicately and she herself was licking the toffee from an apple. She had already spent a magical time just being with her daughter on those wonderfully painted ponies that move up and down around the roundabout, which she knew they both enjoyed. The sun was beating down on her and the gardens, lighting up everything with a brilliant gold. She couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thinking about this whilst licking her apple, she looked up at the skies and mentally gave her thanks to the force of the almighty that has chosen such a beautiful day for her. Well, even if it had rained she would have appreciated it.
As she walked, she felt her daughter trip. She instantly bit down on the soft part of her apple, and with a mothers reaction, she caught her daughter with one arm, and with another motion, stopped the soda from falling by expanding the molecules and holding up the cup up in the air. Straightening her daughter up, she gave the soda back to Chloe, her heart still pounding from the scare. Her daughter didn’t seem to be too shocked, just a little shaken. Gathering herself, she bent down and looked at her daughter.
“Hey, how about I win you some big prizes hmm?”
