The manipulation of plant life: Matro can manipulate plant life as if it was one of his arms or legs. The concentration required for it varies by size, for larger plants like trees it takes a lot of concentration, but for grass or flowers it takes very little.
The alteration of plant genetics: Matro can alter the genetics of plants to cause side-effects and to alter shape, size, color, and/or chemical compound that make up the plant. It takes a lot of concentration to cause this changes.
The recreating of dead plant cells: Just as it sounds, Matro can heal and recreate plants. This is the only one that requires him to actually be in contact with the plant.
Appearance:
Personality: Matro is normally calm, and willing to help others. He is often willing to talk to anyone, but can be shy around people that remind him of his father. He is often depressed, but is often trying to hide it. He spent most of his life hiding things from others, and learned to lie to almost everyone. He cares for a lot of things, from small animals and plants to even people who try to hurt him. He is easily angered, and has a tendency to be hotheaded. The only thing that really makes him mad is fat jokes, south jokes, and hurting others, even if he doesn't know them.
Hobbies: He likes to read, and can often be seen sitting on his feet in a chair. He likes to study history, and can sometimes be reading something that looks older than him. He likes to fence, and is often seen caring around his fencing bag that he caries his saber in. He can sometimes be seen in the kitchen cooking one of his many ideas, a lot of them come from Oriental recipes but some are from his own ideas.
Weapons/Equipment/Skills
A fencing saber: A thin fencing blade with a curved tip. He sharpened the edge for defense, but uses another one for fencing.
A heavy green jacket: A heavy green jacket that he believes to give him good luck. He caries many different items in the front pockets, and can often be be seen pulling a book out of it.
Fencing practice: He has gone as far as the final rank in saber class, and picked up several ideas on how to defend himself.
Soft eyes: A skill that is often mistaken for a problem with ones eyes, but is actually a technique that he learned in fencing. It allows him to focus his eyesight in one point, and to catch the movements in that one area.
He can read Latin, and knows how to make herbal medicine.
History:
Matro's father was in the U.S. military, and met his mother after a few years in Kansas. His father soon married, and was sent to Germany because of his job. His wife went with him, and in a few years Matro was born. They soon moved to Oklahoma, where his father quite the military and became a carpenter.
It was around ten when Matro found out about his gift, and his mother soon found out. She did what she could to hide it from Matro's father, who was a major anti-mutant believer. Matro was soon found out about his father, who wasn't all that happy about his son being a mutant. He was determined to find a way to suppress Matro's gift.
He spent allot of his time locked in a small room, and was often seen as a freak in his fathers eyes, but his mother cared less about him being a mutant. She saw it as a gift, and often help raise Matro's spirit. When he was thirteen he ran away for one night to see what other people where like. He heard many different rumors about the anti-mutant laws and ideas, and was scared to think of what would happen if any found out about him.
He found his way back to the house around morning, and dashed into the house when he heard a gun fire from inside the house. He was shocked when he saw his mother on the ground, and his father with a gun in his hand. It took a moment of seconds for him to turn the gun on Matro, and Matro ducked and pulled his hands over his head. He heard a gunshot, and thought he was dead. He looked back, and saw a skinny figure standing a the door that led to the kitchen. He was scared, and saw his father laying on the ground. He gave off a small sigh when he realized that it was the town sheriff.
The sheriff told him that he knew about what he was, and said he would take him in. For a few years he took up fencing, and excelled at it. He toke it up as a way to cope with his depression, and found several friends in it who accepted his gift. He wasn't going to use his gift, but when a guy tried to rob the place he did what he could to stop him.
It was when he was seventeen he was told that his father wasn't dead, and had escaped from prison. Matro was told about the Xavier's School for Gifted Youth. Matro was given two things a heavy green jacket, and a train ticket.
Role Playing Sample:
Matro had walked into the old house, that kept showing the horrific images in his mind of when he was young. He soon saw something stir in the shadows, and heard it say something about it being a long time. Matro heard a shot go off, and everything rush though his head. Matro sat up screaming, and look around. He was sitting in his bed at the Maxin residence, and heard a knocking on the door to his room. It was Granny Maxin asking him if he was alright, and soon fell asleep after telling her he was fine.
He woke up a few hours later, and walked down stairs. It was an early morning, and saw his caretakers busy as always. He was helped with his bags, and escorted to the train to New York. It would take a few days, but it would be easier for him instead of flying. He said his good byes, and was given a train ticket and a green jacket. He tried of the jacket, and almost fell forward by the unexpected weight, and had to adjust it a few times. He felt it scratch against his skin every so often, but didn't care about that. He soon boarded the train and left for New York.
